The 52 km tour with 1,010 meters of altitude takes you past fascinating wooden art and old water wheels via the towns of Holzhau, Hermsdorf, Frauenstein, Mulda and Dorfchemnitz.
Through the valley of the clattering mills to the adventure world of Blockhausen. The huge wooden water wheels drive the mills in the Gimmlitztal with loud squeaking and rustling. They spit out a curtain of clear water. The hammers and mortars of the grinding and tamping works develop enormous forces that a human being could not muster alone. The screeching chainsaws, which carve amazingly filigree works of art out of the gigantic blocks of wood at the annual chainsaw world championships, also develop enormous power. In Blockhausen you dive into a gigantic fantasy settlement made of wood. You won't find a comparably large collection of wooden sculptures anywhere else. The highlight is the 40 meter long table. Carved from a single tree trunk, it is in the Guinness Book of Records.
