Comprising 27 points of interest over 13.7 km, the “Bergbaulehrpfad” discovery trail offers numerous opportunities to get to know the beautiful Greifenstein area.

The trail is circular and begins at the Zinngrube Ehrenfriedersdorf Visitors’ Mine on the Sauberg. From there, the path continues to the industrial estate and then along the old railway line to the Greifenbachtal valley. The route continues along the Röhrgraben ditch to the Greifenbachstauweiher reservoir. Walkers will encounter numerous relics of the old mining industry, such as tunnel mouths and ruined stamp mills. Climbing up to the Greifensteine (rock formations that serve as lookout points) supplies you with sweeping views over the Ore Mountains. Continue along the Albin-Langer-Weg to Ehrenfriedersdorf, where you will reach the Sauberg via the “Lange Gasse”, an old hewers’ track.
