The International Peace Ride was the most highly regarded amateur cycling event in the East and was often compared to the famous Tour de France. It was last organised in 2006. The EUROPEAN PEACE RIDE, or EPR for short, has been reviving this idea of a cross-national cycling tour since 2021. But the EPR is more than just a multi-day cycle race. Ambitious amateur cyclists spend months preparing for the challenging tour through several countries (and mountains!). There are no exclusion criteria in terms of gender, religion, origin or handicaps. The culture of the EPR is one of togetherness. The event becomes a social event: cheering crowds at the side of the road and at the arrival of the cyclists ensure great goosebump moments that are in no way inferior to those at the Tour de France. The exact route in 2025 will not be announced until spring of the year.
